Northbridge

A cultural centre by day and nightlife hub by night, Northbridge is the undeniable beating heart of Perth City.  Home to over 150 restaurants and bars, Perth's most iconic clubs, fun group activities, and the Perth Cultural Centre, Northbridge isn't just its reputation but also so much more.

You can't deny that Northbridge is the definitive spot for nightlife in Perth. On all nights of the weekend, the Perth train station is packed with punters from north and south flocking to this inner city suburb, just a short walk from the Yagan Square exit. Venues such as Paramount Night Club, Metro City, and The Court are the most popular places for partygoers to spend the night, but everyone has their preference for their favourite locations. For the best experience in Northbridge, having an idea of the sort of night you're looking for is key to your enjoyment. There are bustling multi-story clubs with long queues for wild nights and pretty much every genre of evening you could look for. With western-themed whiskey bars, rooftop tiki cocktails, hidden speakeasies, drag queens and karaoke, fun is practically guaranteed if you research and find your perfect venue. Or, of course, you could stumble into one and have the best night regardless.

Live music in Northbridge is a great way to spend your night and, oftentimes, support local artists. Venues like The Bird, Jack Rabbit Slim's, The Rechabite, and Lynott's Lounge consistently host live acts from local up-and-comers, national sensations, and international powerhouses.

Capping off your night with a greasy takeaway is all too easy in Northbridge. Still, you would be remiss to ignore the wealth of multicultural cuisine, often open until late to catch the partygoers on their way home. Desserts are plenty, along with Mediterranean and Asian eateries that will blow you away with their quality and, of course, the easy burger or kebab to carb-load after a long night.

If you visit these restaurants during the day (when they are usually less busy), there are many different activities perfect for a day out with family or even a date night. ESCAPE THIS escape rooms, Holey Moley mini-golf, MANIAX axe throwing, and even the classic Timezone arcade will keep you busy for hours.

The cultural hotspot side of Northbridge is often ignored, but it offers a rich experience where you'll find appreciation for the history of Perth and its art scene. The Perth Cultural Centre in Northbridge is home to the Art Gallery of WA, WA Museum Boola Bardip, the State Library of WA, the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, The Blue Room Theatre, and the State Theatre Centre of WA. This conveniently packed area places our arts institutions together alongside heritage-listed buildings and the history provided by the museum. The museum is a highlight, the $500 million redevelopment making it the most expensive museum in the Southern Hemisphere. With eight permanent exhibitions taking you through Indigenous history, colonial settlement, and WA's scientific and cultural collections, among other interesting fixtures, you could spend hours here and not be finished.
