Description
It’s time to dive in! Here we go is the opening party for Audible Edge 2025, held in the lofty Rechabite Hall.
The night features two ambitious new works from local artists Michael Terren and Scratching. Michael flexes his incomparable electronic production chops in a critical exploration of the aesthetics of videogame sound design. Expect ‘whoosh’, ‘bang’, ‘slice’ and ‘zwing’ in unbelievably high fidelity.
Alongside our local heroes is sound artist Jess Robinson from Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa, visiting for their debut performance on this continent. Finally, west-coast-born Aarti Jadu, now based in Naarm, presents their new project SICFWYLF and Variations. Working with George Worthy and Emma Ovenden, they tease out mantra-like melodies in a cyclical interplay between voice, harmonium, winds and electronics.
Across the evening Yira (DJ) caretakes the space between live sets with her selections, keeping the fire burning and the mud slugging. It’ll be a high-energy, deep-listening event with that opening night buzz!
